It was upon this invention that the company's foundation flourished under. Today, The Liebherr business has grown to become among the world's leading manufacturers of construction equipment. The company has also gained the reputation of being the acknowledged provider of user-oriented technically innovative products and services in various fields. The business has presently become a "Group" working in every continent with more than 130 companies and over 35,000 employees all around the world.

In order to guarantee a manageable operating size, the Liebherr Group has been divided into various company units. These units have been designed to operate separately. This particular set up allows the company the ability to be flexible to market signals and stay in tune with global competition. Since the year 2012, several of the active individual divisions have been represented by third generation members of the family like: Patricia Ruf, Stefanie Wohlfarth, Jan Liebherr and Sophie Albrecht. These members of the family have been working hard together to be able to help set up the family business' course in the future.
