Operator Environment
Operators have a safe and efficient place to work from in the Spirit Delta cab. The specific design of the cab comes as a result of extensive research into the operators working conditions. The most important objective is to be able to provide optimum visibility with no forward corner posts and large glass areas unobstructed to keep the field of vision clear. The instrumental panel is ergonomically designed and is gently rounded and really comfortable. This area has also been designed with an unobstructed clear view of all essential info, in order to keep the operator working as efficiently as possible.
Vibration levels and noise levels are kept low thanks to the insulated mounting on the chassis. So that they can maintain an optimal working position, the hydraulic controls and operator seat are all individually adjustable. Furthermore, the steering wheel and related panel is adjustable for utmost comfort. There are 2 multi-functioned ergonomically positioned and simple to operate levers which are offered for windscreen wipers, gear changing, the window washers and horn.
To ensure a comfortable cab temperature for the operator, a ventilation/heating unit supplies incoming air which is replaced by an air filter. This is easily replaceable and the unit slides out afterwards to make serviceability an easy option. The machinery has a robust 3-speed fan for heating, cooling, defrosting and recirculation. As an additional option, air conditioning could be fitted.
Instrumentation
In the Spirit Delta, the instrument panel has logically grouped units that are all accessible. Standard instrumentation includes: low brake pressure, high coolant temperature, low engine and gearbox lubrication oil pressure, warning lamps, applied parking brake and high gearbox oil temperature. Additionally, gauges display values for fuel quantity, operating time, engine coolant and gearbox oil pressure.
The ECS or Electronic Control System monitoring is one of the main options on the 8 to 10 tonne trucks. These models make it easier to supervise the machine. All of the monitoring functions are handled by the ECS and incorporated by this system. The single warning lamp and the full text display show any faults which take place and their current values.
